Re-roof Buildings in Elwha Historic District
Location: Olympic National Park – Elwha Ranger District
Agency: National Park Service
Contract ID: 140P8318C0059
Verdis was the Prime Contractor and self-performed 100% of the contract to re-roof a ranger station, three residential structures, and two outbuildings in the Elwha Historic District of Olympic National Park. Verdis’ carpenters removed and disposed of existing cedar shingle roofs, repaired historic skip sheathing, installed underlayment paper, ice and water shield, flashing, and installed new cedar shingles. Verdis managed this contract simultaneously with Contract 140P8318C0007, Structural Upgrades to Historic Warehouse Buildings. The two contracts were required to be completed in a 3-month work window due to limited accessibility to the job site, provided by three temporary bridges constructed over the Elwha River.
