McNary Lock & Dam Powerhouse
US Army Corps of Engineers
Verdis was the prime contractor for the replacement of existing vertical lift doors with a new door system, including mechanical hoisting equipment, electrical power and controls, and an access walkway. The existing door was a 14-by-33-foot tall, four-section vertical lift door installed in 1949. Rail removal consisted of concrete demolition, removal of two 130-foot long railroad rails, concrete backfill, and installation of 750 square feet of 6-by-6-inch quarry tiles to match the existing powerhouse floor.
